Which? The motor cables or the battery ones?
... What's the specific reason for the bang? Electrical induction or something? The wires are soldered flat onto the speedos pcb so The motor wires are well away from the prop shaft. |
Andy.
Power wires look a bit dangerous, might just be the angle of the shot. I run mine around the other side of the slipper, away from the centre shaft. By the way which ball studs did you get and from where, to run the losi ends ? Andy |
They're HPI mate.
HPI 75115 - HPI Cyclone Ball Studs, 4.3 x 10.3mm (4) These go on the steering hubs and the alloy steering plate HPI 75116 - HPI Cyclone Ball Studs, 4.3 x 13mm, (4) These go on the outside of the front and rear hubs, and on the front and rear shock towers (you will need 2 packets) You'll then need 4 x 3mm locknuts for the ballstuds that go on the shock towers. ... And yes I suspect it is the angle of the photo, the wires really are not near (in Durango terms anyway) the shaft. |
Here's mine the FNG Friggin new guy aka the noob. This is my first time painting a shell. Enjoy!

Marco can I ask if you have problems with the rear tresrey driveshaft rubbing on top of the battery strap?
Ta |
Tresrey driveshafts are only good for pictures... they do wear very very very very quickly (2 packs and they are dead on very high grip track...)
As they are taking lots of play after a run, they are rubbing on the top of the battery strap... I am happy with all the other Tresrey stuff, but not with the central driveshaft |
I have the same speedo/receiver and I run mine the other way round. Speedo at the rear and receiver stood upright. nothing hits the shell then because of that lip which will be cured with the new shells...
I guess the only downside if you ever needed to run a fan on you wouldn't be able to mount it to blow over the terminals very well. |

To be honest, I have no precise idea. I have a lot of heatshrink at home, and I took the one that best fitted the driveshaft. I bought a mix of different diameters in an electronic shop near home.
On the rear driveshaft, there is not enough space. I tried it, but after 10ft on the track, it was gone... lol |
The Treshey rear alu gearbox holder isn't quite as high as the plastic one I noticed. I had a little boot over my joint and it was rubbing on the strap after changing the mount. I popped a couple of little washers under it to lift it slightly and no problem.
|
So you would avoid the tresrey driveshafts? Do you have a photo to show the wear they incur? Thanks
|
Phil,
The holes elongate where the pin goes through, my shafts are in the bin so unfortunately I can't provide a pic, but as has been posted at least 3 times today, they have a high wear rate. So yes, avoid... You can have enough problems.. |
I'll try to post some pics of the Tresrey when I change them
|
Ok spot on!
My Durango is running spot on for months! So rather not throw poor parts at it. |
