@ Coleman - No I couldn't put a price on this one, it would have been extremely high so no I didn't charge enough, I enjoyed i though and judging by the comments it's being well received.

@ Badger - Cheers fella, bit different to yours, yes did take ages, actually you can't believe the hours that went into it and I won't go there as the owner was more than patient waiting for it.

@ Julian - Woohoo I've made it, I'm famous... I have a stalker

'kin bright race paint

Something leery for the weekend sir ?

http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps8c3126c7.jpg

The brightest most retina numbing shell I've created to date. Lots of subtle slightly off shade colours that don't all show up in the photographs too, as you've come to expect from me now.

gainsy 10-01-2013 01:56 PM

Awesome work fella, colours work really well together, super neat as always :thumbsup::thumbsup:

eyeayen 11-01-2013 04:18 PM

Something a little different from me, usually I like to work with tight super neat designs but I did a couple of these and have to admit they were a lot of fun to do. Not an easy effect to get right.

This one was way back for Neo buggy this year.

Thanks for the comments chaps :)

Holy Cow Ian - burnt my eyes out !

Technically, as always awesome, but i'm not a fan of such leery colours, I like subtle - traditional stuff as i'm old and boring!

julianb 15-01-2013 12:39 AM

You not been surfing off Honolulu have you ?

Defo got a Howlee twist there bra

eyeayen 15-01-2013 05:17 AM

Cheers Andy, yeah a bit bright that one, looks nicer in the flesh, will show up ace on the track ( from space !!! ).

@ Julian, :p no dude, no surfing, just random stuff that comes out of head

Well six months since I posted any of my own work so I thought I'd put up a few bits I've been working on recently. Sorry still not taking on new projects as trying to get through the back log still, winning but a lot in front of me still and I want my weekends back so won't be taking anything on for a while. This is purely me showing off recent work and to drag my thread out into the open again before it disappears to far down...

So something very simple for Badger5's new K1, glittery white, sparkly blue, neon red, surprisingly none of them photograph well  the car does work on track from any distance perfectly though !

An Alonso Crash helmet inspired shell for Tommy, white sparkle in the light blue and the dark blue is all glittery too, again I was unable to replicate this in the photographs.

I did a pair of these new Mugen MBX7's for Tinny

XB9 for Blue Dakar

In the voice of Clarkson... Iron Man doesn't drive a Phat bodied Losi 22 but if he did his shell would look like this... ( for Kelk )
http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps3ec499a3.jpg

And an MBX7 for Nasir, who has been in the queue forever, but he keeps changing his mind about what he's driving so keeps selling cars before I've painted them, glad to say though he's keeping this and the gushing email I received from him when he received this today was great, he absolutely loves them, so thanks for letting me have a free hand in the design dude, glad you like them !

More to follow soon I seem to be on a bit of roll now :lol:

badger5 22-06-2013 07:30 PM

All of those shells are totally awesome Ian, can't imagine how you designed the Iron Man shell, not easy by any stretch of the imagination. The 1/8th shells look really cool, so much detail and real clean and crisp lines. And much thanks for K1 shell, can never fail to spot it on the track!!

Steveonamission 23-06-2013 12:37 PM

Nice to see you posting Ian! Kicking out some quality looking shells as always. Even the simple designs, you manage to bring out little details in them to give them that little lift.

Also I really appreciate your pin work across the crazy shapes and angles buggy shells produce... I struggle on touring cars sometimes and there flat! Excellent work.

Tansley 23-06-2013 04:23 PM

I'm very pleased to say the body shell based on Fernado Allonso's helmet was exactly what I was looking for. I've had a few shells painted by Ian and every time it's the same, a good conversation with Ian whats required and then leave it to him.
The body shell picture doesn't do it justice, the sparkle in the blue and quality of finish always brings positive comments from the other racers.

I would recommend Ian and his work to anybody. Thanks again Ian.

Tommy

Kelk 23-06-2013 05:02 PM

Big thanks to Ian for the Iron Man shell. I might get a moment to mount it up tonight as I only got it from the sorting office yesterday and it rounds off my Iron Man collection

Top work fella:thumbsup:

Nas 23-06-2013 06:31 PM

What can i say? words can't describe such awesomeness.

I send Ian just over a million shells, but i keep asking for him to send them back because i keep selling and buying new cars!!

Finally i found the perfect car for me, i send Ian 2 bodyshells, with minimum instructions. GERMANY,SEBASTIAN VETTEL,BRIGHT. That's it, from that he adapted it into a extremely sexy bodyshell!

The Lines outside of the Flag are based on Sebastian's helmet theme along with the awesome circles (such a neat job). The circles are perfectly drawn and really STAND out. The Neo yellow/green really gives a bold glow and stands out from the rostrum.

The Mugen logo is PERFECT..... perfectly drawn on. Very very hard to do!!

The rear section is based of one of my old shells, and as you can see it has a "breaking" effect which looks UBER coool.

This shell is MUCH much more than i asked for. Ian is a perfectionist and doesn't accept "its okay, or its good" it has to be bloody brilliant! this is why he takes a lot of time to paint shells ;)

Shell was perfectly packed and arrived instantly.... Very very impressive. When i opened the box i was like and i quote from Ian's saying " a dog with 2 dicks" super excited!! :woot:

This stuff is freckin LEGENDARY! i've used a LOT of painters before.... but by miles Ian's work is OUTSTANDING,and i truly mean that!! :wub

This shell made me win 2 finals at Slough and get my best result at Slough with a Mugen i've never raced with before:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm sorry guys and girls pic's don't do their justice, Looks so much nicer in flesh!!

'A dog with two dicks' I wonder where he got that saying from? Shell looks awesome Nas, very individual.

eyeayen 24-06-2013 12:20 PM

 dunno what to say to all that. Thanks guys, too kind... far too kind...

And thanks for baring with me while I got these done and thanks for using me.
