Just looked at the A final 4wd results.
Shouldn't Ellis have finished 3rd and not 4th?

frobes2 28-02-2011 01:23 PM

Wow, what an awesome event and would love this to be a yearly thing.

Just started out in racing again and loved the track layout and the organisation of the whole day (4wd). The 2nd A final was amazing with great driving from all involved especially the top three drivers, brilliant to watch! cheers.

A big thank you to Maritime and all the people involved especially Ian, the scrutineers and the canteen crew. Also thanks to Scott, James and Mark who helped me through out the day with advice, parts and the obvious rude banter!!!

I have the rc bug back and would love to go to more events/days like this,

Also well done to all the Faversham Off Road Car Club, you did us proud!!

Thanks again,

Scott..

Hi Steve T

No it is right

the final rule was 3 legged finals
2 Legs to count
tie break on fastest counting leg
then next fastest counting leg
then FTD

so Tonys 3 point leg is faster than Ellis 3 point leg

Tony Truman 3 16/304.66
Ellis Stafford 3 16/313.41

hope this helps

Matter of interest what were the cheaty tyres?

crewie 28-02-2011 07:17 PM

1/8th wheels and tyres.

crewie 28-02-2011 07:19 PM

I would also like to thank all at Maritme Racing for a great fun weekend. We look forward to a return for next year

Cheers mate, wouldn't know what type? (only asking as with the perm track round the corner and hopefully a year for me to practice till the next one, will be interesting to see what wheels work well on sct at maritime)

crewie 28-02-2011 07:53 PM

Although I ran standard at the start, I lost an insert so went to yellow minispikes on 1/8 wheels. All I would say, there is probably not that much difference in the right hands on that surface. I think Darren was on kit wheels and didn't do too bad lol.

brookie 28-02-2011 08:06 PM

Not sure what tyres Darren was on, may have been kit, may have been JConcepts, sure he may confirm?

What I do know is that following discussions with Maritime Racing the understanding is that as and when the permanent Off-Road track is built and running (due Autumn 2011 ) all three off-road classes (2WD, 4WD and SCT) that ONLY recognised SCT tyres will be allowed!

None of those cheaty 1:8 rallycross tyres but proper 2.2/3.0" SCT tyres, but I'm sure Maritime will confirm as and when they get nearer to the eagerly awaited opening date?

Cheers Steve, thats cool, TBH got a load of sct tyres and wheels, jconcepts, kourse kings, HPI's and stock, so was hoping that one of these would do the trick in time. If stock ones were good, then kinda know that what I've got will be ok

Benh 28-02-2011 08:45 PM

Brilliant, well run meeting. I can't speak for all events but I would imagine it hard to find a more organised meeting anywhere! Wav files of every competitor - what a touch! (and even more time invested).

Big thanks to Snow Knight and the Maritime Dwarfs.

See you next time.

I ran standard Asssociated SC10 kit wheels and tyres on the SCX-60 and they were Ok to be fair, they squealed like a pig on the wooden bits , but grip as a whole was not bad on them, a little loose on the carpet but good on the wood and not too much on the astro corner.......

Gaz_Stanton 28-02-2011 09:06 PM

Again thanks to all involved for putting on a great event. That must've been a mammoth effort!

Loved the track with both cars, some great features that really made for exciting and FUN racing!
Really like the way the tables, chairs & power was all provided. Nice touch that saves a lot of ball ache lugging that equipment across the country.
Good racing, good banter, good food. What more could you want.

Was a priviledge to watch Darren, Neumann & TT battle in out like that in the last leg of the 4wd A. Awesome skills!!!

In all a well run, but friendly event that was well worth the 3 hour drive. Will be doing it again if it's going to be a regular thing.
