We are going to have to reschedule the 4th meeting as the current date clashes with the indoor finals. I have suggested March 3rd, Tom will confirm this after speaking to Phil.
Watch this space.

Vintage at indoor finals?

Well the guy I'm getting my car from is back home and sent me some pics, looks fapping ace, unfortunatly I'm away with work next week so won't get it till next weekend so no racing of it until next year. And when I do G, you should be VERY scared! It's a Procat beater for sure.

I am well impressed to see people rolling out the old school racing stuff. Am just a bit dissapointed my TRX TCP is too young for the class being a 1993 chassis. O hum. I will continue to race it at Bury for now.:)

Vintage cars

If some of you is going to the DHI-CUP race in Denmark in January, please take your lovely vintage cars with you, because we will make a small stand for these cars (there will be no racing with these cars)

If you have any questions please send me a PM

Well after getting my nice car through * and rebuilding it together with the best bits of the other one I now have 1 built mint car. It's sad but I'm so pleased with it, it being a car I always wanted as a kid but never had.

The whole car is virtually like new (now), especially the whole transmission which I reckon could take some low turn motors, the shocks are mint though am struggling to get all the air out. I might have over specced the servo with a KO 2123 but it should be well quick and reliable with a 12*3 (thanks Jim) for the endurance.

Spec is near as damn it worlds car inc carbon towers, mint stealth etc, ballraced MIP steering, pukka period Lunsford turnbuckles, RPM bll ends, viper shell but have genuine AE sprayed shell on way from states :)

* Please note thanks to Dan Rowlands who supplied me with the nice car for a very reasonable price and was very helpfull. Part of the deal was that I'd get Jimmy to take some action shots, hope that's not a problem Jim ;)

Can anyone that ran at the vintage night with a stealth tranny in (Damo, Jim) give me a starting ratio for an 81t spur? After how far out I was last time I don't want to give my partially fried motor a harder time than I need to!

jimarea51 21-12-2006 09:37 AM

Nice ride Dan:)

The internal ratio for the early steath box is- 2.25:1

Therefore use the following to obtain the correct gearing-

Spur 81
Divided by
Pinion ?? (20)
Multiply by 2.25
=9.11:1

That won't be far away for a 12x3 ish

Later

Jim

Skills Jim, can I get that arm at the vintage night at York before the endurance so I can build up the motor?

My post above I had actually meant to ask what pinion/ratio to run with the 20t stinger on the stealth box?

Also what's the crack with the wishbones. I was led to believe by someone that the black ones were the later ones? So have put them on the nice car. I do notice that my black rears have less material forward of the inner hinge pin that the white rear ones I have, the white ones need a hinge pin about 6mm longer to fit accordingly.

Forgot to mention, the weak link in the chain on both cars I have is driveshafts. I have UJ's on both and the ones on the nice car are a lot better than on the dog, but they are still far from great. Anyone see any CVD sets on ebay please let me know!

Northy 21-12-2006 06:33 PM

The black arms are the latter ones and are correct on your car Danneth. You are also correct that they are sharter on the inner end. No idea why.

Is your car Pre 1990 Dan? I don't think it is...........

Is yours G?

super__dan 22-12-2006 09:51 AM

G, you're clearly jealous that though you might have 50 vintage cars, I only have 1 but it's cooler than any of yours ;) :D

It defo meets the rules, I checked in advance. Got to do something to try and haul in the procat, oon proper gearing I can't see how anything can catch it!

Tom, you doing the edurance with us, we need to firm up a team, do we need to book in in advance as well?

super__dan 22-12-2006 01:15 PM

OK last gratuitous shot as am aware I'm getting very boring now. She's all finished and ready to rock, Is next vintage 2 weeks tomorrow?
