A bit messy at the minute, some things are still being tested. so far, so good. |
Just wired up my good old buggy, cant beileve its nearly 1 year old now. I have moved the ESC to front from back. Not sure if it will make car nose heavy?
What everyone think? or should the ESC stays in back? http://i1196.photobucket.com/albums/...225_164604.jpg New wiring job... http://i1196.photobucket.com/albums/...225_164726.jpg My old wiring job... http://i1196.photobucket.com/albums/...222_163242.jpg |

This is my new-old Losi 22 bought from Chris56. Here it is after some spit and polish and a few new parts:

I can't believe how awesome it is, mind you, my previous car was a Traxxas. |
My Plastic chassis

How does it go with the plastic chassis? That's from a Hobao, right?

Jaune, your plastic chassis looks pretty interesting. Does it fit without any modifications and where can i get one?
|
Its the hobao H2 chassis. Its not bolt on thought, Its like 5mm longer than the 22 std chassis so i had to drill other hole( I went 5mm shorter than stock), cut some pieces and created mounts. For the front I just had to do some dremelling. The rear servo screw is at the same location so its easy to figure. Anyways nice little project, There is still some snow over here so I should be able to give some feedback in a couple of weeks but flex looks very similar to a B4. I really think it will help on low bite tracks.

Newbie
Hi all,
New member here, kind of new to the scene (well I have taken a 10+ year break). I used to race at the awesome Mid Essex Club, including when it was Springfield RCCC, but then left home to go to Uni and moved North. Now I am planning to have a dabble in racing again (when I can fit it in around work) and have bought myself a 22 :) After driving B2s and B3s back in the day, I moved to a XXX and XX4, so upon returning it seemed a simple choice to go Losi again! Hope to have it all finished this weekend and share some pics with you. (Don't expect an amazing paint job, or neat wiring... They never were my strong points) :bored: |

Finished most of my 22 at last, paint done, most elecs done, few issues for me to research and sort out but hopefully get to do that next weekend :)

Personally I'd find a better way to secure your ESC Capacitor, than allowing it to flop around under the battery strap.

Ah ok... thanks, any suggestions?

A velcro tab on the battery or tuck it in the rear strap

That way it won't flop around and potentially damage it, or loosen the wires attached to it, and it's out of the way and forgotten. Attached (below) is three different example of doing it on 3 of my 22's (3 different esc's, 3 different size capacitors). |

Those who run front battery, esc rear in mid motor.. how do you find it? Wouldnt it make it front end heavy?
Im trying out this config to solve the fan / esc clearance issues on std shell with shelf mount. |

My LOSI 22
1 Attachment(s)
Finished building my LOSI 22.
Everything fitted in nicely. Can anyone recommend a body shell with plenty of height clearance. The standard body shell is fine for the moment but going to change it soon. My last car was a LOSI XX 18 years ago cannot wait to race this. |
