Cheers Raymond. It's a "k" by the way. Mark with a "kicking k"

Ray Mac 27-12-2011 04:02 PM

Kicing "K"

Sorry about the "Kicking" bit, but oldies get confused when there are two of you with the same name, and different endings.
Never mind, eh!

nobby 28-12-2011 10:34 AM

hello gentlemen (and my old mate ray):D

Tyne-Met New Year

Seasons greetings Chris, Caroline and family.
First meeting in January is 9th, 7o'clock doors open. Early birds get preference, for what ?----you've just got to wait and see .:p

cheapskate 28-12-2011 06:54 PM

I'll be back on the 9th with the buggy:thumbsup:
had to pinch some bits off the tc to get it fully up and running.
will one lipo do me all night with a bit of a charge?
i went to charge my lipo for the buggy and i had managed to leave it switched on since the last time i used it:blush:, ive read that you can try and charge them on nimh setting to get min voltage back in then balance charge them back on lipo setting but sounds a bit dodgy-
might take it into work and try it- then if it does blow up its not making a mess of my house:lol:

Ray Mac 29-12-2011 03:13 PM

ONE Li-po = ONE night's running ?

Hi Mal, good to see you're coming back even if it is the "Dark side" (just kidding buggy fans). You know all are welcome, No discrimination at our club! As for using 1 li-po all night, I think it will depend on your gearing and how many runs you do before charging, not forgeting to have it cool enough to recharge. Do you use "stick or saddle" packs. I have Jason's stick packs (2) if they are any good to you. Got my own Li-po's now. Let me know if you want them charging up for the 9th.
See you there Mal.
Ray.

i use stick packs Ray with the 4mm tube connectors.
the lipo's have to be 24mm in height or the belt will rub on them-
my two 5900 lipos are too big:thumbdown:.

Mal

Ray Mac 31-12-2011 07:44 PM

Li-po's.

Right Mal!, Jason's li-po's are 4000's, are 24mm. height or thickness, connectors are around 4mm. and fit standard Corrally conectors.
It's no problem charging them. So will you want them for the 9th.
Giza clue, see ya there then. Ray. :eh?:

cheapskate 01-01-2012 11:48 AM

re: lipo's

They sound about right ray.
if you wouldnt mind giving them a charge and bringing them along that would be great thankyou

Race Control for the 9th

Is there deffo going to be someone there to run race control on the 9th with Mark and Paul both being away?

Ray Mac 02-01-2012 05:53 PM

Tyne/Met on the 9th

Mike West and / or Andy Scowens (apologies if I've spelt your name wrong, Andy) could be setting the computer up.
Sure I'll charge those batteries for you.

lazysurfer 06-01-2012 08:49 AM

Dont forget lads, AGM on Monday 16th after track setup, all welcome but only members eligible to vote. Free nights racing for the remainder of the night after the meeting - as in no charge for the night, NOT a free-for-all :-)

Ray Mac 10-01-2012 09:02 PM

OK lads, so the first meeting of 2012 is over. I think it went quite well, so, a big thanks go to Mike West and Andy Scowen for getting the track and computer sorted. With a total of 3 qualifiers and 2 finals for 3 heats (2 TCs and 1 Buggy) not bad. 15 runs and we still got out before 10o'clock. Let's see what the AGM brings for this year.
See you all next week with Mark and Paul back from their winter break.
Ray.

cheapskate 16-01-2012 10:36 PM

The Darkside!

A cracking turn out again- not sure on the numbers, im sure our newly re-elected chairman Mark can tell us better.
Managed a full nights racing with the SXII and loved every minute of it:thumbsup:
the power of the darkside is just too strong to resist:lol:
see you's next week

Mal

littlened 17-01-2012 08:04 AM

I am looking to start racing again, and I can only do every couple of Sundays, I might do seaham one week and you guys the next.

lazysurfer 17-01-2012 08:34 AM

Well we had a good turn out for last nights AGM, 24 on track I think for the free racing after and quite a few more not racing but there for the meeting.
Very little to report other than membership increasing form £23 to £24 - this includes BRCA membership which has gone up £1 since last year hence the increase.
We’ve agreed to look into putting on a regional buggy event subject to finding a suitable venue at a suitable time, ideally where another event was on at te same time so if any of you know of any planned events, preferably but not necessarily motorsport related which may be happy for us to gatecrash with a race meeting, let Mike West know. I’ll enquire about a couple of VW shows likely to be run again.
Committee members were re-elected as last year with James taking the 5th member role in the new position of junior members representative.
Don’t forget you need BRCA membership paid within the next 3 weeks to be allowed to race - insurance requirement!
See you all next week where we’ll hopefully have a bit more grip and I’ll hopefully have rebuilt my car!

Great Officials
Great Venue
Great racing
Great Club

Thanks to all the Guyz for the stalwart effort in running the club, time and input often unseen and unappreciated.

lazysurfer 27-01-2012 08:31 AM

Ok guys a little quiet last week with only 21 on a track obviously laid out mainly by the buggy lads I can only assume from the inclusion of THREE jumps!
Grip varied picking up as the night went on but seemed to fade again for the final for some reason.
Well time to charge and prep for next Monday when the buggies will be due the extra round.
See you there

cheapskate 28-01-2012 05:33 PM

i thought the track layout was mint:thumbsup:the more jumps the better:woot:
when are we starting another championship?

lazysurfer 31-01-2012 08:39 AM

Well a cracking turn out last night with 29 cars on track, 11 TC’s and 18 buggies, a new record for the venue on a track presumably built by the buggy lads again with an ever increasing number of jumps!
Many more buggies and we’ll be in the predicament of how to split the heats again so come on TC lads, get back racing and stop defecting to the dark side.
Grip started a bit low but improved over the night and was decent enough for the last quali’s and final making for some close racing with TC’s flat out side by side for most of the length of the straight and not ending in tears J

See you all next week

jonny carr 01-02-2012 01:41 AM

great nights racing but did'nt think there was quite enough jumps:p:thumbsup:

Now Steven thats just silly........
who would marshall our heat!!

lazysurfer 07-02-2012 08:33 PM

Well not a bad turn out last night with 21 racing, 11 TC’s and 10 buggies. There was also plenty of grip to be had with the* hall noticeably warmer than usual when we went in.
A good win in the TC class for Nev on new tyres, buggy winner anyone?
A bit of a hiccup with the buggy quali thanks to the loop taking a hammering from some over enthusiastic jumping landing off the track and on the connector. Some of you even had a good attempt at taking out race control!!!!
See you all back next week J

cheapskate 07-02-2012 09:07 PM

I think Buckle won the A buggy final and Jonathan Carr won the B final

jonny carr 08-02-2012 10:23 AM

could be wrong but I think jonny clarke won the buggy A final.

lazysurfer 14-02-2012 06:27 PM

Well a bit of an odd night last night, 21 racing comprising 9 TC and 11 buggies meaning we run 2 buggy heats and only 1 TC for the first time!!!
At least we all got 5 races so buggies will get the extra one next week.
Well done to everyone in the mixed ability TC heat on some very clean and well mannered driving, the mixed abilities proving no problem at all with everyone allowing lapping cars past. The worst piece of driving I seen all night was in the final courtesy of yours truly clipping Dan when lapping him - apologies again Dan!
Where the hell are the rest of you TC lot - long term awol STILL are Harry, Campbell, and the Andersons with Telford, Dytham, Ian, Mel, Nigel, Clarky all missing to name a few, get back along, the dark side is taking over!
Anyway if you lot could get back to me on who is interested in turning up and putting on a race for the car show at corbridge on 13th May.
I’ve provisionally said we’d do it as they seem to think they can provide us with some equipment to set up a track on both grass and tarmac to run both classes.
Possible returning racer in the weeks to come - James Chappel threatening and also a rumour that the Hobbit could come back - fingers crossed we see them both back sometime soon.
*
Show details on the link below - could be a good day out so let me know who’s interestedJ

Xray008 15-02-2012 09:54 PM

Does 9 + 11 not make 20
Or is it just me who cannot count
Sounds like a good buggy club I will have to pop over for a go
