hello,

i build my gear diff with the o-rings shown in the picture. works alright for me.

for building the shocks i tried the touring car o-rings (clear) on the bottom and left the original ones (blue) on top. works as well with a smooth shock movement.

i am using green slime from associated on both parts (shocks and gear diff) and for the gear diff i smear a bit black grease on the outdrives.

hope that helps.

I use those TRF O-rings too. I build my diff in June and race two days a week. There is zero weeping.
I opened the diff 2 weeks ago just to check and it was full of oil. just like I filled it.... except it was grey.
Also use them in the 503 and they work just as well without any extra shims/washers.
I don't use the green slime, I use TRF O-ring grease (blue slime :D), though I reckon the ae stuff would work as well.

Wow looks good... that's the 1st one that I have seen with a Proline Bulldog:thumbsup:

LhOrLoGeR 18-09-2014 07:24 AM

It's a TRL22 Proline Bulldog, it's my old body shell of my >Zbus< . I wait another paint job on Proline Fantome, RB6 and Xgear Tamiya.

I have one, but they are white

Just a question.... What is the reference of diff ball outdrives ???

Impossible to find on another car kit....

1st meeting with my new XMW. Its a nice step up from the XR.
Only things i did at track was install "Blue" springs on the rear and play around with the slipper settings.
I going to try to go to either #3000 or #2000 oil in the diff and see what difference that makes on loose track.

Guys, rod guides, i damaged one, ordered the stated 53979 guides as stated in the manual, and they are wrong, anybody know what are the correct seating guides for the big bores?
Could it be the 53574 TC guides as they seem to have the seating step?

Bests.....lee

Guys, does anybody have a good bonafide ball stud/cup option for this car. Getting back into it I'm a tad scruffy, and the std ball cups really pop off on sometimes the slightest knock, there all new too, can be a little frustrating, I've tried RPM cups on AE metric but they don't want to snap on, any ideas?

MHeadling 15-10-2014 08:31 PM

Kyosho ball cups are 4,8mm and fit great, very strong and good quality

ralphee 16-10-2014 06:44 AM

Thanks buddy, ordered lol, as i said I'm a bit scruffy at the moment, but even the slightest knock i pop one off, frustrating, loving the car though, looks better than i drive it haha!

Yikes, the stock outdrives on this are so ropey, not very sturdy at all! Some mods are required hehe!

Anyone with a good carpet setup ?

Chris 09-12-2014 11:29 AM

XA toe in block

Did anyone try the TRF201 3 degrees Aluminum Suspension Mount instead of the XA mount?

SiR_Dave 10-12-2014 02:57 AM

Wouldn't it be close to touching the motor.
?? since the XMW one is beveled??

Chris 12-12-2014 01:59 PM

Yes, i modified the suspension block to make it fit.
