Everyone I know that has tried the gear diff changed back to the ball diff anyway

Darnit, that scotches my plan - I had a gear diff all ready to go too.

What's the fitment issue? Outdrives shouldn't be the problem, so must be the extra bulk of the main diff body?

Damn...thats me shafted as well, I have a brand new gear diff sat here waiting! The main gear diff must be wider than ball diff assembly? anybody dealt with both for some solid feedback please?

cml have got some set up sheets up for the c4.1 now and it dose give a option for the gear diff? is the prototype gear box diffrent to the production. the AE ball diff is one of the best tho and should be beta on the track than the gear diff but would be good if you could fit one

Happy days :) - It's there.

I was looking at the gearbox photos on the last page, and could see no reason why the gear diff would not fit. AFAIK, there is only one gear diff for the B4.1/SC10.

One word....Dremel lol

tony6187 21-10-2011 04:02 PM

just looking at the setup sheets.it shows the standard rear hubs being run but then lists 0,.5 and 1 deg.i thought the standard ones where 0.5 deg, slightly confused:confused:

KRob 21-10-2011 04:04 PM

I have not seen the new gearbox casings but from one of the three people that have they tell me the body of the gear diff sticks outside the gear diff and fouls the case.

The set-up sheets will change where the weights are so will get the gear diff option removed as well. I have a feeling it was added as it is on the B4.1 sheet - but I can tell you that none of the team drivers use teh gear diff.
Not having ever seen a geared diff myself I am going on the information given to me, but you can trust the source who told me!

Don't tell me. Pre-production chassis were fine, however the production chassis wasn't? I've learnt that on jobs with tight time restrictions it always pays to have a client representative at the factory when the first production units are ready.

I would be interested to hear if this was not the case?

The exact same question crossed my mind when I heard the news. How is it possible no one checked the parts as they start production?

Crash 25-10-2011 11:19 AM

gutted

although another couple of weeks wont hurt, i'd personally have everything correct. I'm sure it will be worth it.

Keep up the good work CML.

neiloliver 26-10-2011 11:14 AM

The most important thing is that the kit is right. I don't mind waiting a few more weeks. If it was April and the season was about to start it would be a different matter.
