York Weekend

Thanks to everyone at York club who made it a good weekend. For me the rain spoilt saturdays racing and although the track held up well I felt it should have been changed more for sundays racing. The track for 4wd was identical to the 2wd apart from a tweek to the jump. I also was a bit dissappointed that alot of people had to pit well out of the way where the tannoy system couldn't be heard.

I thought the track was nearly as good as shields but not as good as Jarrow. Lets see if Batley and Teeside can show us how its done.

If anybody watched sundays A final I was suprised a few drivers kept very calm as some poor driving was evident. (clean it up boys)

I cant say i agree there the whole top half of the track had changed, although they were not huge changes, the track still had changes all the way upto the chicane after the big jump. so there were only 4 small corners that were left untouched

I think you need some new glasses my friend. 95% of the first half of the lap was changed, and the second half of the track was 'tightened up' to make it less "straight line" like for the 4wds.

At least there was a 'tannoy system' at this event eh? :woot:

Sometimes I feel you just come on here to make remarks to start arguements, is that correct?

Hello, if you mean me driving my 501x and my rather hasty hash up trying to re-take Mr Snee on the last lap, then you will have heard me instantly apologise for my mistake.

Poor driving, or did I think I could make it and it went wrong, in the amount of time it took me to think about what I was doing it had already happened.

Similar to an incident that happened to me a few weeks ago ;)

Guys, carm down its only toy car racing!

The only dissapointing thing about the weekend was the toilet facilities, very poor!

footey 17-06-2008 03:54 PM

i thought the track was good both days and i could easly see where it had changed from sat to sun as for the venue i sort of agree for the toilets but i dont think they was made to empty port aloos down but hey i guess u gottta empty them somwhere but i thought it was a well run meeting just like the other 2 before it

nobby 17-06-2008 04:14 PM

fight fight fight...............:woot:
should form a circle like we used to do at school and let you all fight it out.

i think some people on here need to stop taking things so personnel:thumbdown: it was a good meeting somethings were better than the last two meetings and somethings were not.

why instead of whinging don't we tell each other were we went wrong.

amen:woot:

RcRob 17-06-2008 04:24 PM

I think what we should do to encourage all the hardwork put in by the clubs in the NE is come on Oople and complain

Jarrow - New venue, put in loads of effort and was a good event, shame about the weather

South Shields - Another new venue, again loads of effort put in and it showed, shame about the wind

York - An established venue, again loads of effort put in and was another good event, shame about the weather on Saturday

I'm sure Batley & Teesside will be just as good

rcracer 17-06-2008 04:35 PM

all the meetings have been great and there will always be minor hicups, it isnt a battle of the clubs to see who runs the best meeting  alot of effort is put into them so why dis silly little things that dont mean jack.
i had fun anyway :p

I agree 100% with this, I really don't think people realise how much effort goes into putting these meetings on and the commitment shown by the organisers to get these meetings going. We should be supporting each club no matter how good/bad the venue/track/weather was. Organisers at all our N/E regionals try their best, but have to work with what venue/materials/helpers and time they have available. If numerous people continue with sly remarks and nit picking we will risk losing these people and therefore meetings.

I don't think I've been to a perfect meeting where nothing has gone wrong, including national events, just be happy we have 5 different venues to run at, some regions don't have that luxury!!

Richard Lowe 17-06-2008 08:02 PM

I thought the tracks were great both days, nice and flowing with a good mixture or corners that weren't just right angles or hairpins like a lot of layouts end up being. The surface was really good too, zero breakup, little undulations to make it interesting, gave amazing grip in the dry and comedy slickness in the wet

Two of the best flat grass tracks I've raced on, Sundays especially :)

If it weren't for the random interference problems people seem to have it would make a really good national venue.

What was wrong with the toilets btw
