no, if you look on page 5 of this thread at the pictures, it definitely has green tops and shock bottoms.

I think you confuse the standard Ansmann Madrat with the competition Ansmann pro-x. Only the pro-x comes with the lovely green parts:wub

No, he's right - look here: http://www.ansmann.de/cms/racingroot...0/mad-rat.html

mdb_75 13-06-2009 07:51 PM

Yes they're just all black plastic on mine, on the outside of the box it shows the black/green ones and it says they're aluminium.

Not really on is it!

Bit like the non-existant ballraces then, but hell, its £47.99 so lets not get too picky. At that money it's build, break, bin, buy another one without feeling guilty:thumbsup:

That's it. I can't really see how they can make them, get them over here and still make any money on them, my two kits @ £47.97 each were delivered free as well. It just goes to show how much money's made on the higher end models, which at the end of the day can't cost that much more to produce.

Oops, now I'm confused. I guess I was wrong. Sorry guys. It sure is wrong to advertise the product with nice green aluminium parts and delivering the kit with platic ones  Still a bargain though ;-)

I will be on Tuesday as long as there's no rain!

I think maybe the green tops and bottoms will be included on the RTR version but i havent seen one yet.
It would be interesting to see what speedo and radio gear come with the RTR too

jimmy 13-06-2009 08:02 PM

You can see from the photo that where it says Alloy shocks, it shows some plastic dampers - a mistake. The alloy trim on the plastic shocks I assume was a change before release - they look good, so it's a shame they aren't included, but since they offer nothing but looks I'm not personally too fussed.
They should have included a line - contents may differ, or something.

Team associated did it with the original RC10 - Tamiya did it with the TRF 501X. They photograph the prototype and don't update it when the final car makes production with changes.

Don't suppose anybody going up/down to Blyth on Sunday will have a spare Madrat kit they want to swap for £50? Mine has still not arrived and I want to build it for Wednesday

Just took a look on the 'interweb' and Ansmann have sent out replacement shocks to those who complained in Germany.

mdb_75 13-06-2009 09:34 PM

There's a thread on here about the Magnum truck where
scaramanga22 complained about getting the wrong shocks and got replacements.

what about the bearings:lol:

mdb_75 14-06-2009 08:38 AM

The instruction manual has the bearings down as 'oil ball bearings' and the detailed diagrams have them drawn like plain bushes. I think they meant 'oil bearings' rather than 'oil ball bearings' which is what they've supplied. Lost in translation.

Where was it stated that they came fully ballraced? I've searched, but can't find it.

budgio 14-06-2009 12:45 PM

Wow that looks great!

mdb_75 14-06-2009 05:56 PM

That does look good!

How much are those shocks or are they some that you had lying around?

budgio 14-06-2009 06:04 PM

They are the TRF Aeration shocks that i used to use on my old Durga.
Just dug out my white spring set so i,ll pop them on later
http://www.stellamodels.net/catalog/...oducts_id=3319

They seem to be ok although ive only whizzed it up and down the road so not really tested yet.The shell fits pretty good too.
