same here. was going really well on this one! thought it was great.

managed a 29.59 on kidderminster 1.

Teddy truman 19-09-2008 01:42 PM

sorry guys wanted to make it as realistic as possible... didnt look at track this morning

then someone said it was going anti so i put it clockwise:)

sorry:(

mole2k 19-09-2008 04:04 PM

Sorry if I got the direction wrong I could of swore the photos looked like they went anti-clockwise, I never even drove the circuit the other direction until I tried Kidderminister2.

They looked to me have ran anti-clockwise:

Teddy truman 19-09-2008 06:34 PM

they do run anti clockwise now and then but not on this layout we didnt:)

Yardeeee 19-09-2008 06:55 PM

The track layout being followed is from the 4wd national 08, on that layout we went clockwise... those photos you have there are from the day before, and for the last couple seasons we have ran anti-clockwise during 2wd. I think the Kiddy generally track is really good either way, but clockwise seems nicer to me... 28.78 nicer...

mole2k 19-09-2008 07:13 PM

The design of it means it doesn't need much changes to generate various different layouts.

DCM 19-09-2008 07:27 PM

I got a 32.25.... I shall be at the bottom of the list probably....

telboy 19-09-2008 11:03 PM

God, may actually get some decent score with this one.
Managed a 30.03 so far and consistent runs of 30's/31's  after only a few attempts.

Jonesy 21-09-2008 06:21 PM

30.73 is my best, I can do that consistently(ish) though!

telboy 21-09-2008 08:33 PM

Just got down to a 29.85....so expect low 27's from the top guys!

Adam Skelding 22-09-2008 07:26 AM

27's are you kidding?
29.2 so far.

Richard Lowe 22-09-2008 07:49 AM

ashleyb4 22-09-2008 07:54 AM

telboy 22-09-2008 04:10 PM

Bugger.....

Richard Lowe 23-09-2008 09:45 AM

Well I'm not getting any faster now, hero lap is 28.96 but consistent laps are mid to low 29's.

Tom can you lap in the 28's?! :o

Southwell 23-09-2008 09:48 AM

I did a hero low 30 opening lap, then the rest of the run was bad lol.

col300 23-09-2008 11:55 AM

Managed a 28.44. Can't get under 29 consistantly though.

Teddy truman 23-09-2008 12:52 PM

Southwell 23-09-2008 12:55 PM

I've done a run that is quite clean, but I can't do a consistent run at the pace I want to... it becomes a bit of a corner cut fest!

I've done a 28.45 fastest... I just can't do a bunch of them yet, the middle section is make or break it seems, and is the scene for said corner cut fest at the moment!

telboy 23-09-2008 03:39 PM

I take it you will stop any corner cutting when the results are sorted?

Mine are all clean without corner cutting, but can't beat my 29.45 anymore.
I even switched the ghost on to see if I could.
I can thrash it up to the short straight before the midle table top, but I get slaughtered in the last half lap.
So it seems its all down to the final half of the lap that gives youa quick time.
Get those last few corners (from the far table top, through the mud to the finish) clean and quick and you're on for a flyer i think.

ashleyb4 23-09-2008 05:07 PM

AAAAGGGHHHH how an earth do you do it i cant get my times down.

Chris Doughty 23-09-2008 07:21 PM

the straight after the big jump is too flat, my advantage of knowinging the inside flat line at the real Kiddy does not exist here, Im Toss :(

but it is quite funny how the same little things catch you out on GR as they do at the real track :D

telboy 23-09-2008 07:28 PM

The version I did, did have a smaller first jump.
Thats the main part that I'm not sure how to take...do I roll over it or just take it flat out?:eh?:

It actually would be great to hear of all those little bits on tracks so they could be included in a GR version, as I've never driven or even seen irl any of these tracks im working entirely off pictures which means I cant see the small stuff only the actual features.

I have been trying the idea of using generated clouds on the heightmaps to try and make the surface a bit bumpier but I haven't so far been able to do it subtle enough so it's there but not enough to really unsettle the cars.

after the main straight, the shorter straight leading up the to table 90 degree corner is pretty bumpy right down the centre, if you go super tight its completely flat and you can go down their full bore.

Full wood

I try to keep as tight as possible, 2 wheels hanging off the inside of the jump almost - so you land straight and dont scrub speed.

Yardeeee 25-09-2008 04:37 PM

has anyone submitted their time yet? I think we have until 8pm.

I sent mine in... I don't think my overall time is that good this week, but my fastest lap isn't bad.

Chris Doughty 25-09-2008 06:44 PM

I just submitted mine, I am absolutely wank at these recent tracks :eh?:

col300 25-09-2008 07:07 PM

Had 3 decent middle laps but the first and last wasnt as good. 1 lap faster than my previous best.

lochness42 25-09-2008 08:45 PM

I'm lame....
